The Venue

Gisburne Park Estate, BB7 4LP

Nestled within the 1000 acres of picturesque Ribble Valley countryside is the riverbank wedding venue:

A hidden valley surrounded by ancient woodland, rushing water, dramatic cliffs, medieval houses, picturesque bridges and an abundance of wildlife.

The whole wedding valley is booked exclusively for us & our guests from Friday 13th September to Monday 16th September.

Both the ceremony, & reception will take place in a tipi on the grounds of the estate.

The venue has provided us with some advice below so please have a read of this to ensure that the day runs smoothly and everyone has the best time possible!

Directions

Use the postcode BB7 4LP in your sat-nav but do not drive down Mill Lane, instead turn down Park Road located directly opposite the ‘Delicious Deli Cafe’. This will take you directly to the wedding venue.

Those guests staying on the estate at Ribblesdale Park can follow the sat-nav as directed on to Mill Lane and this will take you to Ribblesdale park to check in before heading down to the wedding venue.

You can get the exact location of the wedding ceremony & the parking on google maps by clicking the below buttons. The ceremony is a short walk from the car park.

Venue Advice

Weather:

The venue is an outdoor venue, we advise you to bring appropriate clothing and check the weather forecast on the morning of the wedding. Block heels are recommended over stiletto heels as some areas are grass and footpaths are gravel.

Taxis:

Some local taxis/ubers will not drive down to the wedding valley. Recommended suppliers are.

  • Gis a Lift – for those guests staying on the estate.
  • Yellow Cars – for guests staying in local pubs/hotels.

Both of these companies know the estate very well and it’s recommended to pre-book your taxis for 12 midnight (or earlier if you’re really old or likely to be completely wasted).

Drinks:

The venue unfortunately doesn’t allow drinks to be brought on to the estate so all drinks must be purchased from the on-site bar. There should be a reasonable selection of bottled beers, spirits & wine. If any alcohol not purchased from the bar is found this will result in the loss of our security deposit so please don’t bring anything with you.

Accommodation

The Gisburne Park Estate is also home to the Ribblesdale Park site, with a large selection of cabins, lodges, cottages and houses available to rent.

Unfortunately, there is a 2 night minimum stay for some accommodation types and a 3 night minimum stay for others.

It’s not particularly cheap, but if you’re happy to share with friends it actually works out pretty reasonable, and you get a weekend away too.

We are staying for the whole weekend, as are some guests, so why not make a weekendend of it, if you have the time and means to do so.

Use code ESCAPE15 to save 15% off your booking.

Alternative Options

For guests wishing to stay 1 night, there are a couple of local hotel/pub options to choose from which will be just a short taxi ride away (don’t forget to pre-book your taxi).

  1. The White Bull – located at the entrance to the Gisburn Park Estate (the closest option).
  2. Foxhill Fold – Located approximately 2.5 miles away (the cheapest option)

Gifts

We’ve been together for over 12 years and already have everything that we’ll ever need, so your presence at our wedding would be the greatest gift of all.

However,

If a gift is on your mind,
A contribution would be kind.
It will help more than words can say,
To celebrate our special day!

Dress Code

We’re calling the dress code semi-formal. It might be a real thing, or it might have been made-up by our neighbour, Steph – who knows.

Basically, it means, dress smart but there’s no need for a formal 3 piece suit. Wear whatever you’re comfortable in.
